Launch at The Australian Museum 5th June 2003

Over 200 journalists, high profile Australians and interested members of the public attended the launch of A Species In Denial in the Terrace Room overlooking Hyde Park on the top floor of the Australian Museum in Sydney. Eddie Coffey, of Peribo books, said it was the second largest audience for a book launch he had seen in his over 50 years of association with book publishing.

National Tour June 2003

Australia-wide tour by Jeremy Griffith & Tim Macartney-Snape promoting the launch of A Species In Denial. Given the FHA is boycotting the ABC and the Sydney Morning Herald (until they apologise and make satisfactory redress — see Defamation Actions) this promotional tour and media response was considered highly successful.

Wed June 4	Radio 2SM (Sydney station which is relayed to over 30 other stations). Gareth McCray interviewed Jeremy at 6:35pm.
Thu June 5	Radio 2CC (Canberra). Mike Welsh interviewed Jeremy at 3:40pm.
Tue June 10	Radio 4BC (Brisbane). Brian Bury interviewed Jeremy at 12pm.
Wed June 11	Radio 3AK (Melbourne). Tim Ferguson interviewed Jeremy and Tim at 4:30pm.
Thu June 12	Readings Bookstore (Carlton, Melbourne). Readings has been Melbourne’s pre-eminent independent bookstore over the past two decades. Presentation by Jeremy and Tim, followed by book signing.
Fri June 13	Queensland University Bookshop. Presentation given by Jeremy and Tim, followed by book signing.
Mon June 16	Australian National University (Canberra). “The Mountains of the Mind” public lecture, part of the Toyota Public Lecture Series 2003, by Jeremy and Tim. The Canberra Times ran a 400 word review of this lecture in its 17/6/03 edition, reporting it ‘provided plenty of food for thought for the audience’.
Tue June 17	University of Western Australia (Perth). “The Mountains of the Mind” public lecture by Jeremy and Tim at the Social Science Lecture Theatre.
	The Subiaco Post (Perth) promoted the UWA lecture in 300 word article on 14/6/03.
Thu June 19	Radio 6PR (Perth) Tony McManus interviewed Jeremy and Tim at 3pm.
	Dymocks bookstore (Rundle Mall, Adelaide) — The Australian Publishers Association ‘Bookshop of the Year Award’. Presentation given by Jeremy and Tim, followed by book signing at Adelaide Writer's Centre.
Fri June 20	Gleebooks bookstore (Sydney). The National Tour finished with a presentation by Jeremy and Tim at Gleebooks, one of the oldest bookstores in Sydney.
