Marcus Rowell, BSc (Hons), 36 (at Jan 1 2008), grew up mainly in Hobart, Tasmania, where he was educated at Hobart College before attending the University of Tasmania. As a Queen’s Scout with a love of the outdoors, Marcus purchased Beyond from the university bookshop in 1992 after seeing Tim Macartney-Snape had written the foreword. Marcus completed his honours degree in biology with the results being published in the Australian Journal of Botany. He worked as a biologist and made regular trips to the FHA in Sydney before moving there in 1997 to support the FHA. Marcus heads the FHA’s Information Technology department.
